The Greenwich Town Social Club is in the heart of Greenwich, offering a family, friendly environment for all to enjoy. We offer a wide range of beverages at cheaper prices than all the local pubs!
We have great entertainment and weekly Bingo, Raffles, Poker, Darts and large screen TV with BT Sports. ABOUT US
The Greenwich Town Social & Working Mens Club was founded 17th March 1913 and situated on part of the current site. Over the years the Club purchased the two neighbouring buildings and expanded the club. We were one of the first CIU clubs to allow women equal membership and rights as male members and in 1994 changed our name to Greenwich Town Social Club.
Under the leadership of our President Bernie Norris CMD, who has served on the Committee since 1980, becoming President in 1994, he negotiated with fellow Committee the re-build of the Club and in 2016 we closed our doors for 3 years. The club and premises were demolished and a new club with apartments above was re-built. With the continued hard work of the managing committee, we re-opened in May 2019 and welcomed our members back, who stood by us during those 3 long years!
We have two separate areas the front bar with bi-fold doors, open on those sunny days and the back function hall with dancefloor. The front bar offers large screen TV with BT Sports, a duke box, pool table, darts boards and gaming and lotto machines. The back hall is used for our entertainment, quizzes, clairvoyants, pantomimes and bingo but is also available for hire by members for their private functions, There is also a secluded outside smoking area.
The club is CIU affiliated and we welcome associate members and their families. The Greenwich Town Social is run on a non-profit basis, (which is why our drinks are so cheap!) and all profits generated are re-invested into the club for the benefit of our members.
